The Dublin Waste to Energy Project is a 600,000 tonne per annum waste incinerator with combined heat and power generation capacity. A consortium of international advisors was retained by Dublin City Council to procure a private developer and administer the resulting development contract.
Durango Browne provided the commercial negotiator for the procurement phase, and the commercial manager and project controls manager for the development phase. The development and long term operations contract was signed in the summer of 2007. By the end of 2009 the site had been acquired, corporate finance was in place, statutory permissions were nearing completion, preliminary engineering and equipment procurement had commenced, and in December construction commenced.
