Marek Zaborowski

Marek Zaborowski has 13 years of experience in environmental economics with a focus on the infrastructural sectors of environmental protection, energy conservation, waste management and water infrastructure. He has experience in regional development issues including project configuration, institutional structures and financing. He is experienced in preparing business plans and regional and local strategic plans, and he has prepared many infrastructure feasibility studies which have received finance under various EU funding programs. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Polish National Environmental Fund, as the Director of Advisory Services for the Malopolska Regional Development Agency (Poland), and as a consultant to the Polish Agency for Energy Conservation and the City of Krakow Development Agency.

  • Dublin Biological Projects: commercial analyst during tender and phases of the procurement of two 20,000 tonne per annum DBO biological waste treatment facilities, Dublin Regional Authorities, Ireland.
  • Malopolska Energy Audit Project: Financial and economic consultant in a team of energy auditors which performed energy audits on 1500 buildings in the Malopolska region of Poland.
  • Gorzow Wielkopolski Water Project: preparation of feasibility study for water system improvements for the City of Gorzow Wielkopolski, Poland.
  • Regional Environmental Improvement Project: team leader for preparation of feasibility studies for improvements to the water or wastewater systems of 13 cities or communes in the Malopolska Region of Poland.
  • Environmental Finance Facilities Project: member of board of trustees of the Polish National Environmental Fund responsible for the development of financial products for project development, and for the selection of major projects for financing.
  • Technical Assistance Program: member of team assisting the Polish Ministry of Economy in the preparation of feasibility studies in support of financing applications to the European Regional Development Fund for roads, IT and cultural heritage projects in the Malopolska Region of Poland.

  • SAVE-II Project: project manager for the introduction of energy labelling to the Polish market, and for the development of software for the appraisal of energy investments.
